Virginia (Ginny) Marquette Hansen - 11-23-2004 A very nice endeavor with the website. Hats off to all who have worked on it. I am a reading specialist for the elementary of Carlton Dist. I also have been an adult tutor for Carlton Cty. for over 20 years and I also teach a GED/ABE classroom one night a week in Barnum. I'm enjoying all three areas of interest and don't have any plans for retirement at this point. For those who can't place me it is because I became a transplant my first year at Denfeld. I enjoyed my years there, the memories and the new friends I met. I can't believe it's been 40 years. It seems like yesterday . Lawrence (Ben) Dathe - 11-10-2004 Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I am living in Bemidji now and welcome any one to email. Looking through some of the comments makes me realize time flies by quickely. I think of the days at Denfeld often. I was sick to hear that the school might be closed. I guess that is taken a different road now. The principal now, Bill Westholm was our class mate. On the rare occasions I am in Duluth I drive by the school remembering the good times, accomplishments, but most of all the hair I used to have. Wishing you all a great day! Ginny (Brandt) St. Marie - 09-20-2004 I'm so jealous that I can't be there in Duluth with all of you as you make the plans for our next reunion. I already have my vacation planned to be there next year and look forward to seeing everyone. Hard to believe that 39 years have gone by. Where does the time go. My children have already been out of school 17 & 18 years.....they are getting so old! Thanks for this great website. Gary Krusz - 08-27-2004 I surf the web mornings before I start work for 10 minutes or so. I got the email announcing the site and took a look. It is interesting to have a place where you can take a step back into your life. I think this site is a very good idea and commend all who are part of it. We are members of a very special generation and time. Our school is something to be very proud of. **Yesterday, I brought my 14 year old grandson to Denfeld for his orientation, as he will be a freshman at 'our' school.** I have sat in the auditorium and watched my kids walk accross the stage at their graduation at Denfeld. Even as I have grown, traveled, lived in other places and gone through life's good and bad times, I always have my growing up years to look back on and savor. Great idea and I will watch the site as it matures. I hope others will respond and enjoy this oportunity to touch bases with the 'kids' they grew up with.
