Buan, Lee.   Born 6/22/47.   Died 5/20/67.  
Pfc. Lee B. Buan, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bjarne J. Buan, of 3225 Celia St., reportedly was killed by a mortar fragment while serving with Company B, First Battalion, Fourth Infantry, near the perimeter of the Cambodian border. The soldier entered the Army on October 17, 1966 and left the U.S. for duty in Vietnam April 4.
He was a lifelong resident of Duluth and a 1965 graduate of Denfeld High School. He was a member of First Methodist Church.
Surviving besides his parents are two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Randall and Mrs. Alan Peterson, his paternal grandfather, Haldor Buan, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Edith Anderson, all of Duluth.
