Carlson, Isabel Marie  Born 9/21/47.  Died 1/12/26.  Isabel, 78, passed away in Shoreview, MN. She was a lifelong resident of Duluth, graduated from Denfeld High School, and also took classes at UMD. Isabel worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Duluth her entire career. She was interested in environmental concerns and was known to her family as 'Smokey Bear.'' Bethany Lutheran was her church home.

Issy was known by all for her wit, humor, and generosity.  She loved dogs but particularly her Golden Retrievers: Hailey, Nellie, Buck, and Oly. Sundays would find Issy armchair quarterbacking for her beloved Vikings.

Isabel is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Irene Carlson, and her brother, Robert. She is survived by her siblings: Joane DeLong, Emmaus, PA, Don Carlson(Sue), Grove City, Ohio, Rita Pratt(Bill), Maplewood, MN. She was adored by her 7 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews. A Spring burial at Bethany Cemetery will be planned(details yet pending). Memorial gifts may be made in her name to Animal Allies in Duluth.
