 Nickila, John. Â Born 8/19/46. Â Died 8/30/99. John Roy Nickila, 53, passed away in his home. John was born in Duluth and was a 1965 graduate of Denfeld High School. He loved music and played guitar in his younger days. He was an avid sports fan with a special love for hockey. He served in the Army from Nov. 16, 1966, through Nov. 16, 1968. John is survived by his daughter, Tina Jackson; a grandson, Steven Jackson; his parents, Roy and Florence; sisters Diane and Mary; a brother, Steven of Las Vegas; a niece and a great-niece; and special friends Tim Voeltz and Karen Pfeffer.
