Cubitt (Rakich), Karen A. Born 3/16/47.  Died 9/26/15.  Karen, 68, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015.  She was born in Minneapolis, MN  to Parris and Jeanne (Hanstrom) Cubitt. On May 29, 1979 she married George Rakich in Merrillville, IN. Karen was proud to serve as a probation officer in Gary, IN for many years. Karen enjoyed history and loved animals. She will be remembered for always looking her best and for being a sweet, caring person who made people feel very loved. Her big heart and smile will never be forgotten.

Karen is survived by her children: Steve (Kay) Budick of Orland Park, IL and Nicole (Blake) Rohrabaugh of Northbrook, IL; grandchildren: Danielle, Nicholas and Joshua Budick, and Maxwell Rohrabaugh; sisters: Kathy Word and Mary (Leo) Naidl; brother, Jim (Kim) Cubitt; sister-in-law, Sally Cubitt; and friend, Chris Ambrose. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; father, Parris 'Buck;' and brother, Thomas Cubitt.
